Where to buy Sonny Angel
Where to buy Sonny Angel at retail and on resale, what to pay, and how to avoid fakes.
Buy at retail first and on resale second. A Sonny Angel blind box retails for $12.25 at the official store, and the figure inside typically resells for $15 to $50 once the series sells out. The secret figures are the exception: they typically resell for $60 to $250, because they are a 1 in 144 pull.
Buy at retail first
The official store run by Dreams Inc. is the first place to check, then authorized stockists. Most Sonny Angel blind boxes retail for $12.25. Hippers and gift series boxes retail for $13.75, and the Birthday Gift Bear series retails for $15.99. New series sell out fast and restocks are irregular, so if a series is in stock at retail, buy it there before you look at resale. Check the retail price on the figure page before you pay, and see where to buy at retail for the full list of official stores.
Buy on resale
Once a series sells out, resale is the only way to get a figure. eBay has the most buyers and the sold data behind the prices on this site. Whatnot and Mercari are the other two places to check. Compare the sold prices on the figure page, not the asking prices: an asking price is a wish, and a sold price is what someone actually paid. The full fee comparison is in best place to sell collectibles. eBay takes 13.25 percent plus $0.40 per order on collectibles, so a seller listing at the top of the range is not keeping all of it.
What to pay
Regular Sonny Angel figures typically resell for $15 to $50. Secret figures typically resell for $60 to $250, but that is a typical band, not a per-figure price: only 8 of the 41 secrets have real eBay sold medians. The full secret list is in Sonny Angel secret figures, and the price detail by figure is in the Sonny Angel price guide. If the price you are offered is far below the typical range, be suspicious, not excited.
Fakes: check before you pay
Sonny Angel is one of the worst brands for counterfeits. Compare the listing photos against the official figure page here, and read how to spot a fake before you pay. Sealed boxes can be resealed, so a box that has been opened and resealed is worth the opened price, not the sealed one. A fake sells for nothing and can get your account flagged, so the check is worth the minute it takes.
