Best place to sell cute collectibles
eBay vs Mercari vs Whatnot vs Facebook vs Depop vs Poshmark, by what you keep.
The platform takes a cut of every sale, and the cut is the difference between a good flip and a bad one. These fees are as of October 2026. Confirm the live fee on the platform before you list, because rates change.
What you keep on a $50 sale
| Platform | Fee | You keep | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| eBay | 13.25% + $0.40 (collectibles) | $42.98 | Biggest buyer pool, and the sold-price data on this site comes from eBay. |
| Mercari | 10% | $45 | Simple and fast. The buyer pays shipping. |
| Whatnot | 8% + 2.9% + $0.30 | $44.25 | Live auctions with a collector crowd. Base tier; higher volume tiers pay less. |
| Facebook Marketplace (shipped) | 10% | $45 | Local pickup is free. Shipped checkout takes 10% with a $0.80 minimum. |
| Depop | 0% + 3.3% + $0.45 | $47.90 | Cheapest of the big platforms, but a smaller collector audience for this category. |
| Poshmark | 20% ($2.95 under $15) | $40 | Worst cut for this category. Only worth it if your buyer is already there. |
The fee traps
eBay, Mercari, and Facebook charge their fee on the total the buyer pays, including shipping and tax, not just the item price. So charging $8 for shipping adds about $1 to the eBay fee. Poshmark is the outlier at 20%, which is why it is last on this list for collectibles. Whatnot looks cheap at 8% until the 2.9% processing and $0.30 land on top, which puts it just under Mercari. And the cheapest option of all is local pickup on Facebook Marketplace, which has no fee at all.
For this category, eBay is usually the right default despite the fee, because it has the buyers and the sold data. Mercari is the simple second choice. Whatnot wins when you have several figures to move at once, because a live show moves volume fast.
Frequently asked questions
Which platform is cheapest?
Depop, at about $2.10 on a $50 sale, because it charges no selling fee in the US, only payment processing. eBay costs the most of the cheap options at about $7.03, but it has the most buyers.
Which platform has the most buyers for collectibles?
eBay, by a wide margin. That is also why the sold-price data on this site comes from eBay: it is where the most transactions happen.
Should I list on more than one platform?
Yes, if you can manage it. Cross-listing reaches more buyers, but delist everywhere the moment one sale goes through, or you will sell the same figure twice.
